Backend Developer

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required).

• 2+ years of experience in Java development, including server-side applications and backend systems.

• Certifications related to backend development, cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Certified, Azure Certified), or security (e.g., CompTIA Security+) are advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
  

• Proficient in Golang (preferred) and Python, with experience in AI agent development and database design/optimization (SQL, performance management).

• Skilled in GitHub collaboration, independent problem solving, strong communication, and implementing security measures compliant with industry standards.

• Experienced in designing scalable backend services/APIs, deploying and managing cloud applications, and optimizing database performance including backup and disaster recovery.

• Skilled in code reviews, unit testing, maintaining code quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as frontend, DevOps, and security.

• Extensive experience in Java, including advanced language features and frameworks.

• Hands-on with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform and Azure, managing VMs, containers, and serverless functions.

• Able to create and maintain detailed documentation for backend systems, APIs, and security measures.

• Strong collaborator, working effectively with frontend developers, DevOps, and other teams.

• Proven ability to optimize backend performance through code and database enhancements.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for timely troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance server-side systems using Java and modern backend technologies.

• Develop and maintain APIs to enable seamless communication between backend and frontend components.

• Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform or Azure, leveraging VMs, containers, and serverless functions.

• Write clean, maintainable code; conduct code reviews; and follow best practices for consistency and performance.

• Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and project alignment.

• Design schemas, write optimized SQL, and manage migrations, performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery.

• Develop and execute unit tests, monitor backend systems, and troubleshoot performance issues.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and streamline backend updates.

• Apply encryption, secure protocols, access controls, and ensure compliance with standards like GDPR and HIPAA.

• Maintain thorough documentation of architecture, APIs, cloud configurations, and security procedures.Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
